LCpl John Bartholomew Davies 3 Commando
John Bartholomew Davies was residing with family in Helmet Row, London EC1 in 1939. Prior to his attestation to the Royal Artillery in 1940 he was employed as a Book Folder and an ARP Air Raid Warden. On 7 February 1943 John was posted to the Royal Artillery (Field) before transferring to the King's Own Royal Regiment on 13 October 1943. After volunteering for commando service he was subsequently attached to No.3 Commando. Lance Corporal John Davies, No.3 Commando, was wounded 6 June 1944 during operations in Normandy, France. Post war member of the Commando Association.
