Jack Lewington 4 Commando
Leslie John 'Jack' Lewington was a Policeman based at Ascot in 1937 who volunteered for the Commandos in 1942. Gunner Lewington, No.4 Commando, took part in the allied landings at Normandy 6 June 1944 and the advance thereafter. He was wounded 1 November 1944 during operations at Flushing, Holland.
