Edward Louis Crowe was a Police Constable who volunteered for the Commandos and was posted to the 2nd Police Intake that commenced on the 23rd July 1942 at the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry.
1939 residing with his parents in Sheringham, Norfolk, profession Printers Apprentice [1].
1941 April, joined the Police at Huntingdon, Peterborough [2].
1943 January, serving in the Mortar Section/Heavy Weapons Troop of No.2 Commando [3][4].
1945 by October of this year he appears to be serving in 60 Section, Special Investigation Branch, Corps of Military Policy, in Rome Area Allied Command. Specifically he was working in the Marche region, and taking statements from Italians who had witnessed shootings of two prisoners of war in February 1944 [5].
1946 December, released Class 'A' . Final rank CSM [6].
1950 resided at the Police House, Farcet, Peterborough [6].
