Roger Hilton No.3 Commando
Roger Hilton, an Artist from Northwood, Middlesex, enlisted December 1939 and subsequently volunteered for the commandos. Private Hilton, No.3 Commando, was reported missing on 19 August 1942 during operations at Dieppe, France, later confirmed to be a prisoner of war. Post war pioneer of abstract art. 1968 appointed C.B.E. (Civil Division).
