Patrick Deary No.2 Commando
Fusilier Patrick Deary, married and from Blackrod, Lancashire, was a regular soldier in the Royal Irish Fusiliers who volunteered for the commandos. He served in No. 2 Commando 5 Troop, 'B' Section, No.3 Sub-Section, and whilst No.2 Commando were based in Ayr before deployment overseas he was billeted at 127 Gould Street, Lochside. Fusilier Deary was wounded 13 September 1943 during operations at Salerno, Italy. Post war member of the Commando Association residing Dorset.
