Corporal Heaton was wounded 9 September 1943 during operations at Salerno, Italy [1][2].
Harold Heaton was married and a former manager for a Timber importer in Wallasey. Served in 5 Troop 'A' Section, No.2 Sub-Section of the troop. Whilst No.2 Commando were in Ayr before deployment overseas he was billeted at 32 Galloway Avenue, Ayr [3]. Final rank attained Sergeant. Post war member of the Commando Association from Great Barr, Birmingham [4].
