Charles Roland Emery, a Storesman from Devon, enlisted into the Armed Forces in September 1939, later volunteering for the Commandos sometime after their formation in 1940. Private Emery, No.1 Commando, was reported wounded and missing 6 December 1942 at Bizerte, Tunisia, subsequently confirmed a prisoner of war.
