- Acting Lieutenant Colonel Halford David Fellowes was Commanding Officer Royal Marine Siege Regiment 1941 [1].
- Acting Colonel Fellowes was awarded the Distinguished Service Order whilst officer in command of 42RM Commando in the Far East [2]. He commanded them from May 1944 until relinquishing command to Maj. H.H. Dales (2 i/c) when wounded at Myebon on 13 January 1945.
- Post war he remained in service and was promoted Major General.
- 1955 Commander Plymouth Group Royal Marines. [3].
