Over the next couple of days starting tomorrow I will be posting in the Gallery pictures and documents relating to Tom Durrant VC who was killed in action at St Nazaire. I will also be posting a copy of the draft article that John Mewett wrote somewhile ago for the Victoria Cross journal which contain some of these pictures and documents but by no means all. These letters and photos have been provided to the CVA by relatives, and I would like to thank in advance Claire Curliss, granddaughter of Tom's brother Jack, and her brother Paul Durrant with whom I have been in contact with, and also to Ivy Evered, Tom's sister, and Pat Evered (Tom's niece). These items will initially be placed in an album which will be located on Page 1 of the No.1 Commando Gallery. I intend to include some family pictures in the album. Tom's brother John 'Jack' Durrant was awarded the Military Medal for his actions on board the Lancastria ( There is information about that on this forum message http://www.commandoveterans.org/cdoForum/posts/list/1345.page
