* In November 1945 Nos.1 and 5 Cdos. were in Hong Kong. The war was over and they were in the process of running down through demobilization. As numbers decreased No 1 Cdo. and No 5 Cdo. merged to form No 1/5 Commando. 45 RM Cdo. gradually took over their duties until 1/5 Cdo. was finally disbanded at the beginning of 1947."
