I'm looking for any information/ stories /pictures etc concerning my Grandfather who served with No 2 Commando during WW11. Can I obtain service records easily?

Dear Stephen:

In reference to your enquiry regarding the service records of your Grandfather, John Rudland, No. 2 Commando, you can refer to the records information posted by our member, Nick Collins at:

as well as my posting at:

Although I do remember the name of your Grandfather quite clearly, I am unfortunately, unable to come up with any specific memories of our service together. This I regret, but perhaps if any of the few remaining members of our unit can offer any remembrances of John Rudland they will get in touch with you.

Meanwhile, I trust you will be able to obtain the records of service and that they will be in good order.

I will also search what documentation I have for any information that could interest you.

Regards,
