Commando Logistic Regiment (CLR)

Based at Chivenor in North Devon, the Regiment is home to about 780 personnel from all three services, including Royal Marines, Mechanical Engineers, Medics and Logisticians. The Regiment is unique in Defence in that no other unit has such an eclectic mix of cap badges working together towards providing Equipment, Medical and Logistical support.

DAVIES, Damian Jonathan

Mne. Damian Davies
Mne. Davies, Landing Force Support Party (LFSP), was killed as a result of a suspected suicide bomb attack south of Sangin, Afghanistan.  At the time of his death he was on patrol with X-Ray Company, 45 Commando Group, Royal Marines. The company was conducting an operation alongside Afghan National Army troops to dominate areas posing a dangerous threat to British forces and the local Afghan population.  
 

DEERING, Robert Christopher

Cpl Robert Deering
Cpl. Deering was killed when shortly after 0715hrs a Viking armoured personnel carrier was involved in an explosion west of Lashkar Gah in Helmand Province, injuring three other personnel and disabling the vehicle. As Corporal Deering approached the stricken vehicle to assess the damage, a second explosion occurred, killing him instantly.

WALTON, Richard Anthony Carl

C/Sgt. Walton was serving at RMDIV Leconfield at the time of his death.

Richard Walton joined the Royal Marines in 1985 and served 2 days short of 20 years. During his career he served at Poole, 40 Commando, Commando Logistics Regiment, 42 Commando, CTCRM, and SBS. [Sources: AFM ROH / Navy News issue 1st June 2005.]

YOUNGHUSBAND, Michael Dean

LCpl. Younghusband was killed whilst crossing a railway line in the early hours of December 10th. He had completed his training at the CTCRM in October 2012 and joined 42 Commando.  In 2014 he moved to the Commando Logistic Regt. RM at Chivenor.  
 

Major Mark Latham  said he had flair, had a dynamic work ethic and was bound for further promotion above his peers.
