September 2008 through January 2009 - Apologies for having no inclusions in Daily Orders. Things have just been far too busy.

11 August 08 - The Commando Loggies had their reunion in Plymouth 8 to 10 Aug, with a Meet & Greet at the 383 Cdo lines on the Friday, a Gentleman's Lunch at HMS Drake on the Saturday afternoon and a few 'runs ashore' thrown in. The weekend was very well organised thanks to WO1 Spence Hogg and his team, with a great turn out of both young and old, many thanks to them all for putting on such a splendid weekend. Squadron!

20 July 08 - Approximately 100 members of the CVA and their families attended our CVA Summer Service at the Army Commando Memorial in the National Memorial Arboretum today. A splendid turn out and a splendid service by George Parsons. Great to see the regular faces and also many new, most looking forward to Fort William in November.

4 July 08 - The London Branch held their summer buffet and draw and were delighted to present our honoured guest Mrs Desiree Roderick with a certificate of thanks for her selfless commitment and dedication in support of the wartime Commandos and their dependents as Secretary of the Commando Benevolent Fund. We thank her again for her service beyond the call of duty and congratulate her on the recent news of her award of the MBE.

3 July 08 - Scotty, Geoff and Fred attended the Formation Parade of 24 Commando Engineer Regiment today where Scotty presented the CO on parade with the old London Branch of the Commando Association standard. Fred was on parade with the new Commando Veterans Association standard which made it a somewhat poignant moment of passing from the old to the new.

26 June 08 - The Fradley Hotel is now fully booked for our gathering on July 19/29. The memorial benches and pavers are being installed on the 27 June. We look forward to seeing you all there in July.

21 June 08 - Happy 40th Birthday to our National Secretary, Geoff Murray.

31 May 08 - Our shop is now open!! You can buy CVA merchandise online. Payment is really easy using PayPal. You can even pay your subs!

20 May 08 - We have now added an Obituaries page to the site. All information that we receive regarding the passing of our fellow Commandos will be added to this page. May they all rest in peace.

4 May 08 - The London Black Cab Company will be taking veterans to Normandy on 7-11 May for the Victory Parade at Caen on the 8th and an array of visits and battlefield tours. Many of our CVA members will be joining them. Have a safe trip and we look forward to hearing all about it in the next edition of Dispatches.

18 April 08 - Scotty's book is now out. If orders are placed by Scotty (via the CVA) then he can get a significant discount, and you may even get your copy signed.

14 April 08 - What a day at the Royal Hospital Chelsea - see forum.

12 April 08 - Hopefully we shall see many CVA members at the Royal Hospital Chelsea on Sunday 13th April for our St Georges Day celebrations. We shall have a small parade with the In-Pensioners and Commando Veterans, followed by a service in the chapel with a buffet and refreshments to follow. Should be a great day, hope to see you there.
