Stanley Carter, a Shop Assistant from Warrington, enlisted Royal Marines 28 November 1939. He volunteered for the Royal Marine Commando embarking with them on 19 August 1942 for the Combined Operations raid at Dieppe. Captured and prisoner of war until March 1945.

George William Godson, a Grocer from York, enlisted 27 June 1940, later volunteering for the Commandos. Private Godson, No.6 Commando, was reported missing 6 January 1943 in Tunisia, North Africa, later confirmed prisoner of war.

George Albert Pratley enlisted into the Royal Marines 6 August 1942, civil occupation Welder. He later joined 40RM Commando and was captured on 10 April 1945 during operations at Lake Comacchio, Italy. He was held in German Transit Camps until liberated 4 May 1945.
