David Gerald Calway 45 Commando
Marine David Calway, aged 18 from Cheltenham, was gunned down by unknown Arabs in the back streets of the Crescent area of Aden while in civilian clothes. He joined the Royal Marines at Deal in November 1965. His passing out ceremony at Lympstone was in October 1966. A keen athlete and boxer he went to Aden in January 1967 for his first overseas deployment.
