Marine Philip Yates, 'Z' Company,  died during the annual deployment to Norway. 
 
He and 2 others were found unconscious in a tent whilst sheltering from a whiteout during an exercise. They were casevaced to a hospital at Gjorvik by a 3 Commando Bde. Lynx helicopter where one was revived, but Marine Yates and Marine William Reed were found to be dead on arrival through asphyxiation caused by the men's cooker.
