Cemetery/Memorial: 
Private John Miller was reported missing from approximately 12 June 1942 and later presumed killed in action, during operations in the Far East. He has no known grave.
John Miller was attested into the East Surrey Regiment on 2 November 1930. He served in No.8 Commando, embarking for the Middle East with Layforce.
A contingent from Layforce were later attached to Middle East Detachment 2, re-designated as 2nd Special Service Detachment (SSD2), for operations in the Far East.
