Lance Corporal John Faulkner died during operations at Santa Maria, Gulf of Salerno, Italy. Son of John and Elizabeth Faulkner; husband of Margaret Hannah Faulkner, of Cadishead, Lancs. In 1939 before his military service he was employed as a warehouseman and soap works fireman residing with his wife at 8 Poplar Grove, Irlam, Lancashire.
