Notes
At the time of his death a patrol from his Commando had been sent to Veere on the North East of the island travelling in a convoy of 4 amphibious Buffaloes.  The second Buffaloe with Lieutenant England in command struck a submerged 11inch shell rigged up to a post as a mine causing many casualties. There is a Memorial to 48RM Commando near the Protestant Church of Serooskerke which lists names of the casualties that occurred there on the 8th November. However Marine Ware is not one of the listed names. As such more research is needed to confirm or otherwise the exact circumstances of Mne. Ware’s death.
