"Shepherds Bush Youth Belongs to the Commando :-
We have all been stirred by news of the raids by the Commando in Libya and on the Norwegian coast, and readers will be interested to learn that Sergeant A. E. Blunden of 4 Swindon House, Stanlake Road, Shepherds Bush, is one of those brave men who have volunteered for this work of exceptional skill and bravery. Sgt. Blunden was born in Godolphin Road, W.12, 21 years ago and has already fought in France and Belgium, being among those who were evacuated from Dunkirk. His father was one of the Old Contemptibles during the last war."[3]
