Pte John Stoddart 4 Commando
Private John Stoddart died during operations at Flushing, Holland. John 'Jack' Stoddart enlisted on a short service engagement with the Royal Scots (s/n 26333) on the 23rd October 1920 aged 17 years. He served in India from the 18th February 1922 until the 10th April 1926 and was discharged on the 22nd October 1932. On the 6th November 1939 he re-enlisted with the Royal Scots Fusiliers TA and transferred to the Royal Berkshire Regiment. He then volunteered for No 4 Commando.
