Sergeant John Park, a veteran of the 1942 Dieppe raid whilst attached to No.4 Commando, was reported missing 25 December 1943, later reported killed in action during the Hardtack 11 raid at Gravelines on the French coast. Casualty Lists record that he was attached to 2 Special Boat Section at the time.
