Private George Sutton, from Hull, was reported missing 19 August 1942 during operations at Dieppe, later confirmed killed in action. Son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Sutton. of Hull, England. 
In a letter to his parents Lord Lovat wrote, " Your son fought magnificently and died in the hour of victory. No man can do more. He is a credit to his Commando and his Country. " 
A former pupil of Scarborough Street School, George had been in the Army for over 2 years.
