Private John Lacey was reported missing 19 August 1942 during operations at Dieppe, France, later confirmed killed in action. Son of Robert William Lacey, and of Madeline Eleanor Lacey, of Bexley, Kent.
Extract from the Liverpool Evening Express.
"Trooper Jack Anthony Lacey (22) of the Commandos, reported missing after the Dieppe raid last year, has been killed. Lacey, who also took part in the Lofoten raid, has four brothers in the Army, two in Chester City Police Force, and one in the Essex Police Force. His father is ex Sergt. Major R.W. Lacey of Swanley Kent, formerly barracks warden at Chester Castle."
