Lieut (T/Capt) Pritchard MC was killed during the raid at St Nazaire. He was one of the commando contingent on ML 457.
 
He, along with fellow Royal Engineer, Captain Bob Montgomery, had been instrumental in the initial planning and training of the demolition teams.
 
He received a MiD "in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in action against the enemy during the raid on St. Nazaire on the night of 27th March, 1942."

In July 1940 he had been awarded the MC for "gallant and distinguished services in action" whilst a 2/Lt in the Royal Engineers TA.
