Guardsman Leslie 'Jock' Campbell, 3 troop, was killed during operations at Normandy on D Day . The grave where he was first buried is shown in a film taken at Pegasus Bridge on the 28th July 1944 and now on the IWM website [view film]. .On his grave is a crucifix and the words "3 Troop, 3 Commando. Killed in action, 2697390 Gdsm. Campbell. Nemo me impune lacessit." Then the badge of the Order of the Thistle has been placed on it, and below is written "Born and Died a great fighter." This is followed by 2 unclear words which the IWM have as "His Comrades". He is buried alongside 2 other Commandos and an Airborne Soldier .
