Corporal John Cameron, formerly a gamekeeper at the Rannoch Lodge Estate, Perthshire, was killed in action during operations in Italy. Son of Donald and Catherine Cameron, of Rannoch Station, Perthshire.

Forenames seen elsewhere as Ewen John.
At the time of his death No.2 Commando were based on the island of Vis taking part in operations against Brac, and other German held Dalmatian Islands. His unit is listed as per the CWGC entry. There are references elsewhere* indicating he was serving as the personal driver to  Lt.Col. Vladimir 'Popski' Peniakoff in his 'Private Army' (PPA) which was operating with the Partisans in Italy.
