Private Peter Chapman was reported missing 23 March 1945, later confirmed killed in action in Western Europe. His Commando were engaged in crossing the River Rhine at Wesel. Only son of of Mr. and Mrs J. Newell, High Wykenhurst, Ewhurst [1][2][4].
- 08.08.1944 transferred from Royal Navy to Royal Welch Fusiliers [3][4].
- 22.11.1944 posted York and Lancaster Regiment, then volunteered for Commandos [3][4].
