Private Leonard Lloyd was reported missing presumed killed, before later being confirmed as killed in action [1][1a].
His name is recorded in the Programme for the Winchester Reunion of No 1 Commando . This entry lists his name under " Killed or died of wounds as a result of action on the occupied French coast" [2].

At the time of his death men from his Commando had taken part in a raid near Boulogne codenamed Operation Bristle [view].  A newspaper report in the Dundee Evening Telegraph titled Diary of the War states " Thursday June 4 - Commandos landed near Boulogne and gained valuable information." [3]
