An entry in the No.2 Commando War Diary dated 4/12/43 at Molfetta states that Troop Commanders were informed that the Commando would be changing over to new establishment and that 6 Troop would be disbanded and its men amalgamated into 4 Troop.

Tom Sherman was in the Kings Regt. and then No.4 Independent Company and later reached the rank of TSM in 4 troop of No.2 Commando.He was on ML156 at St Nazaire, injured, but made it back to the UK. Tom was offered a chance for a Commission but rejected it initially as he would have had to leave the Commando. However he later accepted it as long as after OCTU he could return to No.2. This was arranged, however after he was commissioned he was put on a ship which was meant to take him to Gibralter but in fact went to Freetown. Tom then rejoined the Kings Regt. Update from Pete R. 4/6/10 : Trevor Mather has contacted us to say his uncle has identified this Commando. Trevor says "Just been up to see my Uncle, Fred Mather, and the name you want is L/Cpl Robert (Bob) Craig. He came in with the Police contingent and was from the Hartlepool Police in County Durham. He was on the Specialist 80mm Heavy Mortar Teams in 4 Troop,2 Commando. A really good down to earth chap according to Fred. He died around about 2002/03"
