It is with much regret that we inform you of the passing of our fellow Commando and dear friend Bob Bartholomew (No 5 Commando). Bob passed away on the evening of Wednesday 13 August. Bob was such a smashing fella and will be hugely, hugely missed by us all. His daughter Lyn has asked me to pass on the details of his funeral and has told me that Bob's friends would be made very welcome. The service will begin at 1345hrs on Wednesday 20th August at the Cambridge East Crematorium. Lyn can be contacted on 01869 354198 or at [email protected]

A paver will be placed at the Army Commando Memorial for Bob and it is planned to have him join the fellow Commandos that have left before him when his ashes are scattered within the Garden of Remembrance at Spean Bridge in November. Rest in Peace Bob, our thoughts are with your dear wife Vera and your family.

All the best Ron. I wish we had had the chance to meet your Dad. Enjoy your gathering and I'll raise a glass to him too.
