Email from Peter Young MBE:

Dear Geoff
I am not sure if you can provide any information about my good friend Jack Gacon (possibly spelt Gason) who died recently and is due to be cremated on12/02/2012. Jack served in the 40 & 42 commando during the second world war and althoughhe did not speak openly about his exploits, like so many of his generation,I suspect they were significant. Jack died virtually impecunious and was a proud and private man who wasreluctant to share much about his inner self even to his son Ian who istrying to organise his funeral service with my help. I have attached an article from the local newspaper. Any memories which can help to celebrate Jacks life and contribution to theworld would be gratefully received.
Yours sincerely
Peter Young
