Woolf Blint 6 Commando
Woolf Blint, a warehouse manager with his own business in Glasgow, enlisted 13 June 1940, later volunteering for the Commandos. Lance Sergeant Blint served at the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre) at Achnacarry prior to joining No.6 Commando. 
26 February 1943 reported missing in North Africa (Battle of Steamroller Farm at El Arousa, Tunisia), later confirmed as wounded and a prisoner of war. During his captivity he escaped four times, on the last escape meeting up with advancing Russian forces.
Mentioned in Despatches for gallant and distinguished service.

Member of the Commando Association. 1954 emigrated to Melbourne, Australia. Author of 'By Jeep to Freedom' published in 1994.
