Troop Sergeant Major Ronald Grove, 5 Troop, received a Mention in Despatches in recognition of gallant and distinguished service in the Field.
Recommendation
"Grove was taken prisoner at Dieppe on the 19th August 1942 and was in Stalag 344 throughout his imprisonment from 3 September 1942 to 30 April 1945. From July 1943 onwards he played a leading part in the escape organisation in the camp and for his outstanding work in this connection he has been highly praised by the S.B.M.O. and a Senior N.C.O."
