Reginald Arthur Buckland joined the Metropolitan Police on 2 September 1939 as a Special Constable and subsequently became a War Reserve Constable.
He joined the Armed Forces on 21 July 1942 volunteering for the Commandos as part of the Police Intakes to the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry.
