Lieutenant Phillip Anthony Wellesley-Colley died during operations at Normandy, France.
1929 to 1936 attended Downside School.
1937 joined the South Nottinghamshire Hussars T.A.
1940 posted to the Middle East. Injured and hospitalised playing rugby after which he volunteered for the Commandos.

There is a photo (not yet online) held at the Imperial War Museum reference HU64620 title "107TH REGIMENT, ROYAL HORSE ARTILLERY, (THE SOUTH NOTTINGHAMSHIRE HUSSARS), 1939-1941", with description "Captains John Shakespeare and Anthony Wellesley-Colley in the desert whilst at Asluj Firing Camp, Palestine, May 1940."
