Private Oswald Parkington died during operations in Crete. Elements of Layforce were engaged in a rearguard action during the evacuation.

Notes
The CWGC and Casualty Lists record him by his Regiment only. His name is however on the Westminster Abbey Commando ROH as being a member of Layforce. Trooper Alfred Leighton Bowen 52 ME Commando served with him in Crete referring to him as Private Parkinson.  He was with him when he was killed by machine gun fire during the rearguard action by elements of Layforce.
