1940 serving 208 Field Coy, RE (B.E.F.) reported missing France, later found to have been evacuated back to UK.
21 July 1940 attached No.4 Commando.
11 November 1940 attached 3 Special Service Battalion.
22 February 1941 attached No.4 Commando.
19 August 1942 took part in the Dieppe raid.
6 June 1944 disembarked Normandy.
Served with No.4 Commando until the war ended.
Post war member of the Commando Association from Ayrshire.
