The exact circumstances of the death of Marine Keith Hitchman are not known to this archive.

Cause of death seen elsewhere as a result of a road accident in Japan. However at the time of his death his Commando had been withdrawn to Japan awaiting further orders and during this period they undertook two major raids against a section of railway line along the enemy's north eastern coastline between Chongjin and Hungnam.  Awaits official confirmation of cause of death.
