Marine Charles Alexander, 'X' troop, died of wounds after an ambush in South Perak, Malaya. Mne. Alexander was mortally wounded, Cpl. Ireland was killed, and Mne. King and Lt. Langley were both wounded [1][2].

Marine James Chadwick died when a 3 tonne vehicle he was driving ran off the road during the hours of darkness in the Lenggong area of Malaya.

Lieutenant James Coop, 'X' troop, was shot and killed when a patrol he was leading was ambushed about eight miles from Kuala Kangsar, Perak, by a strong force of communist terrorists. Also killed was Corporal R.T. Ryder.

Sergeant Maurice Taylor travelling in the rear vehicle of the morning convoy to Gerik was fatally wounded when the column was ambushed by communist terrorists.  He died a few days later.
