Private Joseph Mealor, aged 26, was reported missing and later a prisoner of war 2 June 1941 during operations in Crete.
He did not leave with the other prisoners when Stalag 4F was liberated by American Forces. Some details are recorded in [4] below about him becoming friendly with a German woman whilst in captivity and he was last seen on 18 April 1945 the day after the Camp was liberated.
In July 1946 after he had still not been found and with his mother still making enquiries the B.A.O.R. were asked to interrogate two German women and two German men who may have been able to assist. No result is shown.
