"Our Branch has been saddened by the tragic sudden death of our comrade, Joe Stevenson (50 ME Cdo), in April, last. Joe was a stalwart member of our Branch and the very dear friend of the writer of these notes. He was a staunch champion of all the Association stood for and he is already sorely missed by all his Leeds comrades." [1a]
