Marine James Jones was awarded the Military Medal for gallant and distinguished service in 3 Commando Brigade operations at Perak, Malaya during the period 1st January to 30th June, 1952. He had been employed since July 1950 in this region, much of the time as a Leading Scout with 42 Commando RM.
