Major James Fuller was awarded the Bronze Star Medal bestowed by the President of the United States of America in recognition of meritorious service during coalition operations in Afghanistan.
He was taking part in the Marine Corps Foreign Personnel Exchange programme, in which non-American officers can serve alongside their US comrades.
Major Fuller served as assistant operations officer with the US Task Force Southwest in Afghanistan. Between 1 June 2018 and the end of May 2019, Major Fuller helped to plan missions with the Afghan National Defence Security Forces and US Special Operation Forces.
