John William Crew, an Assistant Professional Golfer residing Ealing, West London, enlisted 5 February 1931. Sergeant Crew, No.7 Commando, known as 'Jack', was reported missing 2 June 1941 during operations at Crete, later found to be a prisoner of war from 1 June 1941. Served in No.4 Commando prior to embarking with No.7 Commando for the Middle East. Post war member of the Commando Association later residing Harpenden.
