Private Jim Carlin, a veteran of the Dieppe raid, was wounded 20 August 1944 during operations in Normandy, France. On this date his Unit were involved at L'Epine and took casualties from enemy fire. Post war member of the Commando Association from Stranraer, Scotland.

20 August 1944 L'Epine.
"Our casualties in this encounter were 1 killed and 5 wounded in the morning, and 14 wounded during the afternoon and evening by mortar fire."
