Marine Hayden Rollason died when hit by a car whilst walking along the A38 road outside Plymouth in the early hours of the morning. Plymouth coroner Ian Arrow found Marine Rollason had died of multiple injuries and ruled the death was accidental. Hayden joined the Royal Marines in September 2004 and joined M Company of 42 Commando Royal Marines in June 2005. He had served in Afghanistan in 2006 and was due to go back later in the year.
