Harry Les Hill 3 Commando
Harry Leslie Hill was wounded twice. The first was as a Private during operations in Sicily in 1943, the second as a Lance Sergeant at Normandy on D Day.
Harry was a Birmingham City Police Officer who volunteered for the Commandos. In 1939 he was a Police Constable at the Police Station in Steelhouse Lane, Birmingham.
He volunteered in 1942 as part of the Police Intakes to the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre) at Achnacarry. Post war member of the Commando Association from Bewdley, Worcestershire.
