Captain Harold Pennington, B.A. (Oxon.). Kitchener Scholar and Rugby Football Blue,  died during the raid at St Nazaire. He was one of the commando contingent on ML 268.

A Cadet from the 7th Chemical Warfare Training Bn. (R.E.), the then Spr. Pennington was commissioned 2nd Lieut. on the 11th May 1940, and joined the Hampshire Regiment on the 15th February 1941.​
