Gerald Oakley enlisted 21 September 1940, former occupation Clerk. He later volunteered for the commandos. Private Oakley, No.3 Commando, was reported missing during operations at Sicily 14 July 1943 subsequently confirmed a prisoner of war. He lived at Clapham Common, London, after liberation in 1945.
